IT Project Manager

Job Description

  • Use critical thinking skills to make clear decisions and act as a leader to assist the team in carrying out projects
  • Meet with management to assess proposed projects and establish specific budgets, time and resource allotments, and determine procedures necessary to carry out each project
  • Develop quality assurance test plans, status reports, and MS project schedule
  • Make certain project is ready for governance gate approvals
  • Respond and adapt to adjustments from original guidelines
  • Motivate, guide, and assign responsibilities to team members throughout the duration of each project
  • Consult with other project managers when necessary
  • Have a thorough understanding of business objectives in order to transfer to delivery plans
  • Recognize the advantage of leveraged applications
  • Consult with stakeholders to gain a mutual understanding of project procedures and budgets
  • Bachelor’s degree in CS, BA, Engineering, or a similar degree with an IT focus
  • 5-10 years business experience and broad-base information systems
  • Strong leadership and management skills and an ability to oversee the simultaneous execution of multiple projects while supervising sub workgroups within projects
  • 2+ years of business unit experience
  • Effective critical thinking skills and a strong desire to grow and learn
  • Solid oral and written communication skills
Preferred Skills & Experience (Not Required)
  • PMI Project Management Certification
  • Prior experience in creating, recording, and presenting solutions to senior management
