Software Engineer

Implement and manage an exciting product suite designed to work with our global partners to help automate their shipping requirements. This exciting position is ideal for the candidate looking to handle all aspects, internally and externally, of an exciting implementation process. The Software Engineer is responsible for the examination, organization, implementation and support processes of this project. We are seeking a candidate with a Computer Science or Software Engineering degree or equivalent experience. We are especially interested in candidates with strong development and integration experience of enterprise, server-based commercial software.

Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Handle direct responsibility for the monitoring, examination, carrying out and upkeep of the client’s product solutions suite during the implementation process. Specific tasks include:
    • Building good customer relations with contacts throughout the process to ensure continued dedication to the project.
    • Evaluating current customer shipping processes and systems.
    • Understanding customers’ requirements in order to deliver quality results.
    • Creating and carrying out thorough solutions to meet or exceed expectations, through reduced expense, greater efficiencies, improved quality or other value adds.
    • Providing periodic testing to help ensure product performance.
    • Accurately track and save customers’ software records.
    • Designing training and support materials for continued education of product.
    • Performing routine support, maintenance and upgrades when required.


  • Monitor performance of existing systems to ensure they are meeting all customer needs, as well as creating and fulfilling other solutions across the application system as problems arise.
  • Strive understand and meet customer needs through actively participating in the design integration solutions team.
  • Support company brand by joining in various product exhibitions and presentations.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, MCS, MIS or related field. Also, accepting equivalent work experience and education.
  • Previous experience managing or working with full-cycle system integration projects preferred.
  • Proficient in VB.NET, VB Script & C#
  • Some experience with PHP, ASP & ASP.NET
  • Basic working server administration knowledge in Linux & Windows. Excellent database skills a must, especially among the RDMS platforms (MySQL, Oracle & SQL Server)
  • Some knowledge of data manipulation algorithms
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills and a positive attitude especially among peers, managers, customer and vendors across a variety of communication channels (in-person, email and telephone).
  • Must be driven to work independently with a focus on continued learning and developing technical skills. Should also demonstrate ability to be a team player and work with others to solve problems.
  • Showcases the ability to accept responsibility for tasks, while remaining conscientious of details and delivering results.
  • Ability to manage time well by organizing and prioritizing tasks from start to finish.
  • Must have authorization to work for any employer in the US

Preferred Skills & Experience (Not Required):

  • Knowledge or experience with shipping, logistics and supply chain concepts a plus
  • Some familiarity developing agile methodologies and/or common virtualization technologies
  • Experience developing web services
  • Some basic experience with Win 32 API
  • Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and/or embedded controllers
